Wetsuit hoods are essential when surfing in Winter, especially for UK surfers. Designed to keep your head and ears warm, our wetsuit hoods and neoprene beanies will keep you surfing for longer in winter. Add more protection and insulation by tucking our wetsuit hoods into your winter suits, making sure you don’t miss the UK’s most consistent swells. Our wetsuit hoods also reduce the chance of suffering from surfer’s ear, which can affect your board balance.
Our wetsuit hoods vary in range of thickness, from 1.5mm to 5mm neoprene. Neoprene hoods form a heat barrier around your head whilst in the cold water, making your winter surf sessions more enjoyable and longer lasting. We offer branded wetsuit hoods from Rip Curl, O’Neill, Billabong and Xcel.

It’s a personal choice how thick you want to go, the thicker the hood then the more movement limitations there are and the more your hearing is compromised. However, if you are swimming in very cold water then the thicker, the better. Our hoods range from 1.5mm to 5mm.
A wetsuit hood is often more restrictive when it comes to neck movement, and a cap is easier to get on and off. However, if you find the water very cold, then the pros of a wetsuit hood will outweigh the very few cons.
