The Red Paddle Co 9'8 Ride 2023 may be the smallest member of the Red Paddle Co Ride range but it is also one of the most versatile inflatable paddleboards in the range. Best suited to paddlers up to 80kg in weight as an all-rounder, it is also a great shape for larger riders looking to venture into the surf. A proven shape, the 9’8 Ride for 2021 features everything which makes the Red Paddle Co range great – from a cargo net, durable iFins right through to the patented RSS battens which make this one of the stiffest paddleboards available. A long time favourite of ours and the unsung hero in the Red Paddle Co Ride family, the 2022 9’8 Ride is a very versatile and capable inflatable SUP, particularly in the surf. New in 2023 and following the theme in theme Red Paddle Co Ride range, the deck pad has been significantly increased affording every paddler for grip underfoot all the way to the tail which is a feature that is particularly welcome in the surf.

For the underside of the Red Paddle Co 9’8 Ride see’s the thruster fin set up changed to a twin fin arrangement which enables this inflatable board to be packed small than ever before. On the water, though performance and tracking particularly are improved as the twin fins are pointed inwards towards the centre line of the board, thrusting it forwards on a much straighter trajectory.

Red Paddle Co 9'8 RIDE is 3.93" / 100mm thick and 31" / 787mm wide making it a stable SUP with a high degree of manoeuvrability and because it is stiffened Red Paddle Co's patented Rocker Stiffening System (RSS battens) to ensure rigidity is not compromised, it delivers for a wide range of riders. The addition of the RSS battens means the Red Paddle Co 9.8 RIDE is between 35% - 40% stiffer than other boards of this size and thickness.

What makes Red Paddle Co inflatable SUP boards unique is their Mono Structural Laminate (MSL) composite and airtight coating. MSL is unique to Red Paddle Co and fuses the second layer of hard-wearing polymer to the drop-stitch core at the raw material stage, removing hand glueing errors. This high-tech industrial process also saves almost 2kg in weight and makes the boards stiffer at lower pressures, when compared to other brands. This combined with Red Paddle Co’s Tec-Air technology which enables inflation up to 22PSI means this inflatable SUP is one of the stiffest available.
