About She Wakes Mini Festival

Earlier this month on 6th September, She Flies hosted the incredible She Wakes Mini Festival, a new surfing festival which celebrates and brings together women who are influenced by the world of wakeboarding.

Showcasing the UK’s top talent, it welcomes women of all abilities, providing a meeting ground for the ultimate network of female wakeboarders.

Setting the precedence for more She Wakes Mini Festivals in the future, the completely sold out event kicked off in New Forest Water Park and welcomed women for a day of socialising (at a safe distance, of course), inspirational talks, motivation, music, yoga and, naturally, lots of wakeboarding!

She Flies Ethos

She flies is a not-for-profit organisation which is solely created to benefit women in the world of wakeboarding as a social enterprise.

Eager to share the best of wakeboarding, She Flies is determined to create an environment which promotes female wakeboarders and this is an ethos Wetsuit Centre are focussed on endorsing.

With many male dominated watersports saturating the athletics scene, we want to ensure women get the strongest platform available to succeed in their sport.

Top Talent

Amongst the day of fun and inspirational activities was the incredible opportunity to see the best of the top female wakeboarders on the cable!

Showing us exactly how it’s done, we were captivated by the display of talent, flair and skills of Leah Morgan, India Laverick, Victoria Goode, Izzy Goode and Madison White.

All riders showcased their inspiring distinct styles, and the whole festival was worth attending just to witness and take notes from these unbelievable wakeboarders.

Our Wetsuit Centre Riders

Our proudest moment of the day came from the showcase of our two team riders and our staff member; Leah, Tilly and Laura.

Tilly blew us away, at just 11 years old, she wowed all onlookers with her natural style and ease.

Not only did she impress us on the cable, but she also offered some fantastic advice as a guest speaker amongst other legends including Sara Mosely, Madison White and Izzy and Victoria Goode! All speakers shared inspiring stories of overcoming personal challenges and their paths to progression. You go, Tilly!

Our Wetsuit Advice

It was easy to get swept up in the amazing festival, but our team at Wetsuit Centre were on hand to provide specialist support on women’s wetsuit fitting throughout the day.

For many, finding the perfect suit can be a challenge. As women vary in shape in size, finding a suit which fits like a second skin often needs some expert guidance to ensure all the essential places are correctly fitted.

For more information on how to find the correctly fitting suit, take a look at our blog below. For the ultimate piece of mind, feel free to contact our team at Wetsuit Centre, who are always on hand to answer any questions you may have!
