Winners US Open of surfing 2012

The spectators of this years US open of surfing witnessed some stunning surfing during the closing phase of the tournament. Australian Julian Wilson grabbed the title and beat Brazils Miguel Pupo during the final. Wilson obtained a lot of the events greatest point rating as well as winning the prize. “I’m over the moon,” Wilson said. “I got a really good start and my hat goes off to Miguel Pupo, he’s deadly. I knew he was going to be hunting those lefts the whole heat and I just tried to apply a bit of pressure on him.

It appears the Australians producing some of the worlds bests surfers at the moment. With pedigree like Mick Fanning and Wilson on board, who knows what the Aussies are capable of doing on the ASP tour.

In the ladies event Seventeen-year-old Lakey Peterson, pipped Carissa More of Hawaii to win the title.
